Therapeutic Arts
I have been working as a therapeutic arts practitioner with Music4Wellbeing for 7 years. In this line of work, I use music to support individuals facing isolation, mental or physical health challenges, and life transitions such as bereavement or disability.
With people living longer, the need for non-clinical approaches to health and wellbeing has never been more pressing. While the UK health system can't address all the challenges of aging, music has been shown to bypass damaged neural pathways, improve memory, enhance motor skills, and foster social connection. Recognized by both the UK Government and the World Health Organization, music plays a vital role in maintaining overall health and wellbeing.
